🎮 SCRITCHY SCRATCHY — COMPLETE GAME GUIDE
🎲 GAME OVERVIEW
Scritchy Scratchy is a scratch card incremental game developed by Lunch Money Games and published by Funday Games, officially released on Steam on March 18, 2026 (App ID: 3948120). Unlike most idle games that reduce interaction to button clicking, Scritchy Scratchy requires you to physically drag your mouse across the scratch zone — replicating the tactile experience of a real lottery ticket. That single design decision transforms what could be a passive experience into an active, skill-rewarding game.
The game achieved a Very Positive rating of 96% on Steam within days of launch, praised for its satisfying feedback loop, surprising depth, and the way it avoids the exploitative design common in lottery-themed games. There are no real-money purchases, no advertisements, and no energy systems. You pay once and play at your own pace.
Scritchy Scratchy supports 10 languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Russian, and Simplified Chinese. It is fully playable on Steam Deck and also available as a free browser demo on itch.io.
🔄 THE CORE LOOP
Every run in Scritchy Scratchy follows the same fundamental loop, which deepens significantly as you unlock more systems:
- 1️⃣ Buy a Scratch Card
Purchase a card from your current catalogue. Early game starts with Quick Cash cards; later catalogues unlock progressively more expensive and rewarding types.
- 2️⃣ Scratch the Card
Drag your mouse across the grey scratch zone to reveal symbols. Partially scratching (peeking) is a legitimate and essential skill — reveal corners first to spot trap symbols.
- 3️⃣ Cash In or Discard
Winning combinations automatically add money to your balance. Trap symbols (worms, black cats) only penalize you if fully revealed — discard the card before that happens.
- 4️⃣ Invest in Upgrades
Spend your earnings on four upgrade catalogue trees covering Luck, Scratch Power, Area, Multipliers, Automation, and Quality of Life.
- 5️⃣ Automate with Scratch Bot
Unlock the Auto Scratcher mid-game to process cards passively. Configure its queue, speed, and card type for idle income.
- 6️⃣ Prestige via Final Chance
When the Final Chance card appears, you can trigger a prestige reset. This awards Jack Points (JP) for permanent upgrades that accelerate all future runs.
⚙️ GAME SYSTEMS EXPLAINED
🎴 Scratch Cards & Catalogues
Cards are organized into four upgrade catalogues, each containing progressively more valuable card types. Each card type has its own symbol set, win conditions, payout tables, and unique trap mechanics. Quick Cash is the safe entry point; Final Chance is the endgame trigger. See the full scratch card guide for detailed tier list and strategy.
⬆️ Upgrade System
Six upgrade categories form a branching tree system. Luck upgrades are most important early; Automation becomes critical mid-game; Multipliers dominate late-game math. The Spacebar shortcut — often overlooked — is located in the rightmost tree's bottom-left column and dramatically improves manual play efficiency. Visit the full upgrade guide for the optimal purchase path.
🤖 Auto Scratcher (Scratch Bot)
Unlocked mid-game as a purchasable upgrade, the Auto Scratcher is a mechanical bot that processes scratch cards from a queue automatically. It enables passive income during AFK periods. Queue capacity and processing speed both scale with further upgrades. See the Scratch Bot guide for setup and optimization.
✨ Prestige & Jack Points
The prestige system is Scritchy Scratchy's primary long-term progression mechanic. Triggering a prestige resets your current run but awards Jack Points (JP) — a permanent currency spent on upgrades that persist across all future runs. The key insight is timing: too-early prestige gives minimal JP and a disadvantaged restart. Read the full Prestige guide for optimal timing and JP allocation.
👤 NPC: Mundo
Mundo is an NPC unlocked during mid-game progression. He can scratch cards on your behalf but has his own behavioral quirks — most notably his relationship with the Lucky Cat card. Allowing Mundo to fully scratch a Lucky Cat until the black cat penalty triggers unlocks the "Bad kitty" achievement (15.2% of players). Mundo's automated scratching counts toward cumulative achievements like "Mundo's Friend" (100 cards scratched by him).

❓ GAME GUIDE FAQ
How does the prestige system work? ▼
Scratching the Final Chance card triggers a reset, awarding Jack Points (JP). These are spent on a permanent upgrade tree that carries over into all future runs, making each run progressively faster.
What is the best strategy for beginners? ▼
Focus on Luck upgrades first, only buy Quick Cash cards initially, and avoid Snake Eyes. Do not prestige on your first run — farm JP from jackpots before resetting.
What does Mundo do? ▼
Mundo is an NPC that can scratch cards on your behalf. He interacts specifically with the Lucky Cat card and can be unlocked mid-game. One achievement ("Bad kitty") requires letting him trigger the black cat penalty.
Can I get the Spacebar shortcut early? ▼
No — the spacebar confirm feature must be purchased as an upgrade. Find it in the rightmost upgrade tree, bottom of the left column. It is a mid-game unlock but dramatically improves quality of life.
